The cast of Outlander previews season 2 in one word

When Outlander premiered last year, it was touted by some as the “off-season Game of Thrones.” Though the historical drama does share some similarities with the HBO series where literally nobody is ever safe (ever), Outlander has been roundly praised by critics and fans alike and its stellar season 1 finale left no doubt that the series stands on its own two feet. However, there is one comparison the Starz drama will never be able to shake: Its cast and creators are incredibly tight-lipped about any potential spoilers. When stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe stopped by the Entertainment Weekly Lounge at Comic-Con on Friday along with author Diana Gabaldon and showrunner Ronald D. Moore, they did have some tiny teases to offer: “Honeypot” is the word they’d use to sum up next season. Not to be the best man in a rom-com, but Merriam-Webster defines “honeypot” as “one that is attractive or desirable” (Heughen in all his shirtless glory: check) or “a substantial source of money.” What does it all mean? Check out the video above for more on what to expect in season 2, and leave all honeypot-related theories below.
