OUTLANDER Star Graham McTavish Could Be Set for a Return to Scottish Theatre
By Scotlandnow

The Scots actor, who plays Dougal Mackenzie in the hit Starz drama, posted on Twitter yesterday that he had met with Borders theatre company, Firebrand Theatre.

He tweeted: "Exciting meeting with @FirebrandTheatr yesterday 2 discuss a return to the Scottish stage next year.... #backtomyroots #theatre #Scotland."

Earlier this year, at the New York Tartan Day Parade, where McTavish was Grand Marshall, the Glasgow-born actor spoke of his proud Scottish heritage.

The 54-year-old said: “My nationality matters more and more to me.

“I’ve been away from Scotland for decades. I’ve lived in Canada, England and Scotland before New Zealand.

“I did all my early theatre work at the Dundee Rep with people like Jimmy Logan and (late Taggart star) Robert Robertson. There are people I work with now on Outlander who are the same people I started with all those years ago, which is a great thing.”

McTavish recently shared some behind the scenes snaps of Outlander on Twitter.
