Leading man Sam Heughan is RadioTimes.com reigning Sci-fi and TV Champion, and now Outlander has been voted the Sci-fi and Fantasy Show Champion of 2015.

The Scottish time travel drama, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon, achieved a landslide victory in the final, winning more than 70% of the vote against Marvel's Jessica Jones.

Netflix's latest Marvel addition put up a fierce fight throughout the tournament, knocking out established shows including Supernatural and Humans on the way to the final, but the power of Outlander proved too much for the Krysten Ritter and David Tennant series in the end.

And we're sure Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's voting efforts certainly helped.

Outlander will now go on to compete for the Radio Times TV Show Champion title in the finals later this month.

  1. It was over 78% with more than 616,000 votes. I'm sure it will be more challenging during the finals.
